His Majesty King Mswati III has urged the international community to deliver on its climate finance commitments as Southern Africa grapples with the effects of one of the most severe El Niño-induced droughts.
The King highlighted the growing impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, particularly in developing countries that continue to face increasingly frequent and severe weather events.
His Majesty called for stronger international cooperation and the fulfilment of climate financing pledges to help affected countries strengthen resilience, protect livelihoods and respond effectively to climate-related challenges.
The drought affecting Southern Africa has placed additional pressure on food security, water resources and agricultural production across the region.
