Tokyo, Japan – His Majesty King Mswati III has reaffirmed Africa’s commitment to creating a secure and enabling environment for investments from Japan.
Speaking at the official opening of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9) in Tokyo, the King emphasized the continent’s readiness to welcome, protect, and nurture the investments made by the Government of Japan and its private sector partners.
His Majesty highlighted that partnerships such as TICAD play a critical role in advancing Africa’s development agenda, fostering industrial growth, and strengthening trade and cooperation between the two regions.
The King further underlined the importance of sustainable and inclusive development, assuring that African governments remain committed to policies and frameworks that safeguard investor confidence while driving transformation for their people.
TICAD-9 has drawn together heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, and development partners from across Africa and Japan, with discussions focused on innovation, infrastructure, energy, and human capital development.
This year’s summit continues a long-standing collaboration between Japan and Africa, reinforcing mutual trust and charting new opportunities for growth on the continent.
