The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) today officially bid farewell to the National Women’s Football Team, Sitsebe SaMhlekazi, as they departed for Polokwane, South Africa, to compete in this year’s Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup.
The send-off ceremony was held at the EFA Technical Centre in Lobamba, where players and technical staff received words of encouragement ahead of the regional showpiece.
EFA Chief Executive Officer Frederick Mngomezulu wished the team well, urging them to represent the Kingdom with pride and determination.
“You carry the hopes of the nation with you. Fly the Eswatini flag high and give your very best,” he said.
Sitsebe SaMhlekazi will compete against some of Southern Africa’s top sides in the tournament, which continues to provide a crucial platform for the growth and development of women’s football in the region.
The nation now rallies behind the team as they look to make their mark on the COSAFA stage.
