Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Hon. Savannah Maziya, has today officially launched a national training programme in coding, aimed at equipping 300,000 emaSwati with essential digital skills.

The training is being offered free of charge through a partnership between the Government of Eswatini and the United Arab Emirates. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a globally recognised certification, positioning them to compete in the digital economy both locally and internationally.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Maziya highlighted that the initiative forms part of government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to empower young people, entrepreneurs, and professionals with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.

“This programme is more than just coding — it is about opening doors to innovation, entrepreneurship, and global opportunities for emaSwati,” the Minister noted.

The training is expected to begin enrolling participants in the coming weeks, with priority given to youth and individuals eager to pursue careers in the digital space.
