The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has contributed E270,000 to support Eswatini’s fire prevention and response initiatives, as the country prepares for the high-risk wildfire season.

The funding is intended to enhance preparedness and response capacity, helping relevant stakeholders to better prevent, manage and respond to wildfires. This support forms part of ongoing efforts to reduce the impact of wildfires on communities, infrastructure and the environment, particularly during periods of heightened risk.

UNDP’s contribution underscores the importance of strengthening disaster risk management and building resilience through proactive measures, collaboration and timely intervention.
