The Ministry of Agriculture has received 50,000 doses of rabies vaccines for dogs from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), as Eswatini strengthens efforts to eliminate the disease.

The vaccines were handed over by Dr Tenzin Tenzin at Sibane Sami Hotel during the second day of a two-day national workshop focused on strengthening mass dog vaccination and rabies elimination in the country.

The donation is expected to support ongoing vaccination programmes aimed at increasing vaccination coverage among dogs and reducing the risk of rabies transmission to humans.

The workshop brings together relevant stakeholders to strengthen coordination and strategies towards rabies prevention, control and eventual elimination in Eswatini.
