The House of Assembly has passed the Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2023 to
redirect funds amounting to E47.9 million for budget support and other
government activities.
The passing of the bill will allow the Minister for Finance Neal Rijkenberg to redirect
funds from certain government ministries to support some pending government
services. This transpired during the House of Assembly’s sitting on Tuesday which
comes after the Minister delivered his budget speech last Friday.
Rijkenberg says in the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, most ministries had their funds
redirected, stating that this was done through internal transfers.
Members of Parliament highlighted the importance of passing the bill it into an Act for all
government activities to proceed.
