MBABANE — Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala has passed away while receiving medical treatment in South Africa.
Justice Maphalala, who also served as Indvuna Yemcuba at Ekuhlaleni Royal Kraal, had been receiving treatment in South Africa for an undisclosed illness.
The death was confirmed by Chief Bhozongo Simelane of Ekuhlaleni, who said the Maphalala clan had officially reported the passing.
Justice Maphalala was a prominent figure within Eswatini’s judiciary and traditional leadership structures, serving as Chief Justice while also holding responsibilities at Ekuhlaleni Royal Kraal.
Details surrounding his death, including funeral and burial arrangements, are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
